THE CORE COLLEGE MINISTRY

HomeMISSION VISIONOct 9, 2008

VISION: To expose college students in our church to missions through a faith building yet have fun adventure of practical service and love.
MISSION:To take the college students on a short term mission's trip where they will be challenged to step out of their comfort zones, learn
what it means to look past themselves, and serve God by serving others. Some of the greatest experiences in serving happen out of the
spot light. This can be accomplished through practical work projects, one-on-one evangelism, coming along side of brothers and sisters in the
Lord and encouraging them in their ministry and faith. We know that in all 3 areas there is a need and we want to challenge the students to
not only see the need but act on it.

"It's hard to trust a good physician after you've been exposed to a bad one."

Those kids you've ministered to from Days 1-3 (mao pay na post when I'm writing this) have grown up thinking God is indiferent to them, or even harsh to them. Some of them think that sin can be paid by going to church and lighting a few candles, or telling a priest the bad stuff they've done. "10 Hail Marys and 10 Lord's Prayers," and thats supposed to absolve them.

You told them about the good Physician-- about Jesus. And that is all that is asked of you; to love them and tell them about Christ. Leave the rest to God. Allow the Holy Spirit to soften their hearts (as He has already done in some of them).

So, when you sleep at night, know that you have done a good thing. That you have served the Lord, and that you have loved those kids.
